Our history

2015

Swept Technologies Inc. was founded in 2015 by Michael Brown and Matt Cooper. Owners of a growing commercial cleaning company, Michael and Matt ran into a problem: scaling a growing business with a unique challenge. How to manage a field team that typically worked after hours?

2016

Founders Michael and Matt sold their cleaning business to go all in on building software. Their vision? To solve the biggest pain points for small and medium sized commercial cleaning businesses.

2018

Swept evolves to include key features for any janitorial business: checklists, inspections, in app messaging, and support for multiple languages. The goal is clear: become the most cleaner friendly app on the market.

2021

Swept launches a modernized mobile app and web app experience with more functionality for managers and supervisors.

2023

Founder and CEO Michael Brown steps down and takes over as Chair of the Board. Michelle Audas, former Chief Revenue Officer takes over as CEO after joining Swept in 2018.

2024

Swept makes strategic investments in product development to help make online timekeeping accessible to all Janitorial owners. New features are launched to support Spanish localization, revenue reporting, and mandatory break compliance.
