Dilution is where chemical cost is actually decided — and where safety is either respected or gambled. Two things get it right.
Read the ratio, measure the pour
A dilution like 1:64 means one part concentrate to 64 parts water — so a 32 oz bottle takes about half an ounce of concentrate, not a free-hand glug. Getting this right does two jobs at once:
- It’s the label’s spec. The manufacturer set that ratio for a reason — effectiveness and safety. Stronger isn’t better; it’s wasteful and can damage surfaces or harm your crew.
- It’s your cost. The difference between a measured pour and a heavy hand is often 2–3× the concentrate used — straight off your margin.
