Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to help your team get the most value from this tool.

Where is my inventory data stored?
Your data is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This means it stays on your device and isn't sent to any server. If you clear your browser data, you'll lose your inventory. Use the Export feature to back up your data regularly.
Can I share my inventory with my team?
This free tool stores data locally, so it's designed for individual use. For multi-user inventory tracking across locations, consider Swept's supply management features which sync across your team.
What should I set as my reorder point?
A good rule of thumb is to set your reorder point at 1-2 weeks of typical usage. For critical supplies, set it higher. Consider your supplier's lead time - if deliveries take a week, you need enough stock to last until the order arrives.
Can I import my existing inventory list?
Currently, items must be added manually or via Quick Add. The tool includes sample data to help you get started. You can export your inventory as CSV for backup or to import into other systems.
